SafetyBuyer was approached by VolkerLaser, who were undertaking challenging waterproofing works on HS2 tunnels near Banbury. The unique tunnel environment, combined with a PVC membrane, created an increased risk of slip hazards in wet conditions - a critical concern for worker safety.

This allowed us to recommend the COBA Unimat Workplace Mat, an anti-slip runner solution that met the exacting requirements of the environment.

The Unimat Workplace Mat, supplied in 10m rolls, provided an immediate and effective solution for:
- Enhanced Safety: The mat’s slip-tested, raised, textured surface (51130 standard) and open-hole drainage design ensured superior grip, even in wet conditions.
- Ease of Use: Its rubber compound, containing 75% recycled material, offered excellent traction on the PVC membrane without the need for permanent fixing.
- Durability: Designed to handle foot traffic and equipment movement, the matting proved robust and reliable for the application.
