As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and well-organised workplace, we have undertaken a comprehensive review of our emergency procedures and first aid training.
With a larger facility now under our care, it was the perfect time to ensure that our staff are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to respond effectively in an emergency. Our dedicated team of volunteer first aiders from both the office and warehouse departments recently completed refresher courses with St John Ambulance, reinforcing their ability to handle a wide range of medical situations.
During our training, we were introduced to a pioneering initiative known as "The Circuit," a national defibrillator network that has the potential to save countless lives across the UK. The Circuit, utilised by all 14 ambulance services in the country, plays a critical role in the event of a cardiac arrest by connecting 999 emergency calls with the nearest registered defibrillator.
Recognising the life-saving potential of this initiative, we are thrilled to announce that our defibrillator is now registered with The Circuit, making it visible to emergency services throughout the region. This crucial step ensures that our defibrillator can be quickly located and accessed in the event of a cardiac emergency, significantly increasing the chances of a positive outcome before professional medical help arrives.
