Oxygen behaves differently to air. The air we breathe contains around one fifth oxygen and even a small increase in the oxygen level in the air can create a dangerous situation where: 1. It becomes much easier to start a fire. 2. A fire will burn hotter and more fiercely and 3. It may be almost impossible to put the fire out. Using warning signs to forewarn of potential dangers can help ensure employees and members of the public can avoid areas which are dangerous.
