Many industrial processes generate toxic fumes and vapours that when inhaled cause a variety of different health problems. Equally there are many substances which if ingested can cause serious health issues. In the worst case scenario, not recognising the risks could quickly result in a serious incident with fatal consequences. Many toxic gases / liquids are odourless and colourless and so are difficult to detect unaided, therefore highlighting toxic substances ensures employees are aware of the potential dangers.
